Who are you? What do you do?

We are Fabienne and Philipp. Together we founded Bureau F – a design and branding studio in Vienna.

What defines us is likely the blend of structure and improvisation. We take our work seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
Our daily routine involves designing, discarding ideas, discussing, organizing, and – most likely – drinking far too much coffee.

Ultimately, we spend every day doing what we love most – alongside our amazing team. We value clear ideas, honest collaboration, and projects that offer more than just good looks.

WHAT DO YOU ASSOCIATE WITH HOTEL MOTTO VIENNA?

We actually associate quite a lot with Hotel MOTTO. Of course, there’s the hotel itself – we’re already planning our next staycation ;)
At the same time, MOTTO is much more than just a hotel to us. We love having breakfast or lunch at Chez Bernard, regularly pick up bread from MOTTO Brot (the 'Bauernbrot' is our all-time favorite), and the cherry Danish is always a huge hit at meetings in the Bureau.

YOU'RE MOTTO FRIENDS, WHAT CONNECTS YOU WITH US?

Our connection to MOTTO goes beyond just breakfast or their farmhouse bread. We have been collaborating for many years; we helped evolve their branding and have supported a steady stream of new projects and ideas ever since.

As "MOTTO Friends," we were recently featured in the current MOTTO Brot campaign. You can now find us not only at the hotel or the bakery but also appearing as a postcard motif there.
We also had the opportunity to host a Popchop event at the Bel Étage during the last Vienna Food Week, and we are returning this year with a fantastic new concept.

WHAT INSIDER TIPS FOR VIENNA DO YOU HAVE FOR OUR HOTEL MOTTO GUESTS?

1. MuseumsQuartier (MQ)
A classic, and for good reason. You can easily spend an entire afternoon here – browsing exhibitions, hanging out in the courtyards, or simply people-watching. It works just as well with kids as it does without.

2. Cucina Itameshi
One of our favorite spots in Vienna. The cuisine blends Italian and Japanese influences, and the open-fire kitchen alone makes a visit worthwhile. Our top picks: the Udon Cacio e Pepe and the Tiramisu. In summer, the Zona Aperitivo – their outdoor seating area – is a wonderful place to enjoy a Bellini or some excellent natural wine.

3. POPCHOP
POPCHOP is a passion project of ours. Here, we bring people together through food, culture, and shared experiences. The formats vary, so it’s worth checking Instagram for the latest dates and events.

4. Maité Health Club
For anyone who appreciates both movement and great design. For us, Maité is the go-to spot for Reformer and mat Pilates in Vienna – featuring fantastic instructors and an atmosphere where you feel instantly at ease. You can even buy cool activewear and merch there now. And if you don’t feel like working out, you can simply drop by for a drink. For an extra spicy workout, check out the classes with Aimé and Valeriia.

5. Calienna
Calienna is so much more than just a plant shop. Miri and Christian have created a place that has become an integral part of the Vienna scene. Alongside extraordinary plants, you’ll find books and small gifts. We love their homemade drinks – especially the "Wiener Wolke" – and a large portion of the plants in our own studio come from them, too.

Bonus tip: When hunger strikes and you need a quick bite, we like Chicken Karate or XO Grill – uncomplicated, good, and just about right.
